The Black Berkey Primer is a hand-powered priming pump that allows you to easily prime Black Berkey Elements without the use of faucets or hoses.
The Black Berkey Elements are primed by saturating them with water before usage, allowing for clean water production anywhere.
The Black Berkey Primer also purges (or back-flushes) the Black Berkey Elements, cleaning the unique pores of the compressed carbon filter wall with air rather than water, in preparation for storage.
The Black Berkey Primer provides a simple pressure gradient that attracts water into the center of each Black Berkey Element when it is correctly immersed in water and attached to it. Once entirely soaked with water, the Black Berkey Element goes through the Black Berkey Primer and squirts out the opposite end.
