How to change carbon block filter
- Prepare the tools needed to change the filter. You will need an empty bucket to hold excess water, a bucket with soapy water, and a wrench to loosen the tight filter housing.
- Shut off the water source.
- Open the faucet to drain water from the system.
- Use a wrench to loosen the housing
- Remove the housing carefully.
- Use a bucket of soapy water to clean the filter housing.
- Inspect the O-ring to see if it is in the right condition. If it’s damaged, you need to replace it. Lubricate O-ring.
- Pick your new filter. Put it inside the housing.
- Return the filter housing to the system.
- Tighten using a wrench.
- Turn on the shut-off valve.
- Check for leaks.
- Open the faucet. If you notice black water coming out, don’t worry. That is carbon fine. Let the water flow until it turns clear.
